The Latest Yoga Craze

Yoga is a simple process of reversing the ordinary outward flow of energy and consciousness so that the mind becomes a dynamic center of direct perception no longer dependent upon the fallible senses but capable of actually experiencing Truth. Hatha Yoga — a system of physical postures, or asanas, whose higher purpose is to purify the body, giving one awareness and control over its internal states and rendering it fit for meditation. A way of life.

By practicing the step-by-step methods of Yoga taking nothing for granted on emotional grounds or through blind faith we come to know our oneness with the Infinite Intelligence, Power, and Joy which gives life to all and which is the essence of our own Self.  Yoga is said to be for the purpose of uniting the mind, body, and spirit .

Many people think yoga is just stretching, however while stretching is certainly involved, yoga is really about creating balance in the body through developing both strength and flexibility.

The word yoga itself means “union”: of the individual consciousness or soul with the Universal Consciousness or Spirit. Though many people think of yoga only as physical exercises — the asanas or postures that have gained widespread popularity in recent decades — these are actually only the most superficial aspect of this profound science of unfolding the infinite potentials of the human mind and soul. Yoga teachers will often refer to “your practice,” which means your individual experience with yoga as it develops over time. The amazing thing about yoga is that your practice is always evolving and changing, so it never gets boring. Although the poses themselves do not change, your relationship to them will

‘I was someone who thought yoga was for the real fit and flexible and after observing others doing yoga at the gym or on the TV, I would say to myself ‘I could never do that…’
In my search to find an exercise class that fitted around my busy schedule, I was introduced to Kas’s ‘hot yoga’ sessions. Initially, a very anxious participant but Kas made me feel accepted, included and at ease in no time. At the end of my first class with Kas I felt instant gratification and a lasting transformation to my thinking to the benefits of yoga.
Kas becomes aware of every practitioners limitations and when she knows you are ready for a deeper practice she provides one to one encouragement and guidance and participants learn to realise their own bodies core strength and flexibility.

Kas will maintain certain routines/postures every week, however there is always an element of surprise or an introduction of a new Asana to each class and this keeps me challenged. In yoga the breathing, posing, moving and increasing flexibility happens all together at one time, which has given me a new level of discipline in my mind and body.

I particularly enjoy practicing the yoga in a higher temperature room as this helps keep my muscles warm so allows for deeper flexibility and through the increased perspiration releasing toxins from my body.

In a world of consumed chaos, practicing Kas’s yoga class allows me to achieve tranquility, helps remove stress, unclutter my mind and get more focused. The yoga deep breathing and mediation practices help me foster a different approach to my day to day experiences and adopt a different approach to a stressful situation.

I have learnt so much and still learning more, so thank you so much Kas for bringing yoga into my life.

I am now someone who would recommend yoga, as no matter what your fitness level, body size or health history, yoga has a place for you!’
